London Travel Guide

London Travel Guide

Okay, I love London. After spending six weeks living at Palace Court, I have decided I need to move here for work. I love this city and culture. I have made several lists of my favorite things to do, to eat, to see and I have to share!

Things to do:

British Museum – free entry. go see the Rosetta Stone

Victoria and Albert Museum – free entry. I loved the fashion and jewelry sections but also the Greek and Roman art

National Gallery – free entry. Beautiful collection of art including pieces by Monet, Rembrandt, Da Vinci, Van Gogh, and more

Imperial War Museum – free entry. Museum containing WW1 and WW2 stories

Churchill War Rooms – we had a tour. But this was neat because all of Churchill’s communications and interactions happened in this underground bunker

Tower of London – tickets needed. the Crown Jewels are a must

Tour of parliament and Westminster abbey – reservations needed. We had a tour guide for parliament and the audio guide for Westminster

St. Paul’s Cathedral – worth every step

West End shows – worth it. I saw lots because I love the theater. It’s hard to choose a favorite but I recommend Hamilton, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Phantom of the Opera, and Les Misérables.

Kings Cross Station – such a cool train station plus platform 9 3/4

Primark – shopping at a college students budget. kinda like Walmart but better

Warner Brothers Studio Tour – tour the Harry Potter studio and fulfill childhood dreams

Red telephone booth – yes it’s touristy but makes such a cute picture

Ride a double decker bus – it’s just a fun way to see the city

Ride the tube – slightly confusing at first but simplest way to get around the city

Places to eat:

okay this list is going to lack slightly because I didn’t eat out much

Borough Market – the grilled cheese is to die for and the treats are making my mouth water just thinking about it
